QR Studio: QR code guide and FAQs
QR Studio is a browser-based static QR code generator. It supports website, text, Wi-Fi, email, phone, SMS, contact and calendar event content, with PNG and SVG downloads.
Scope: static codes; no account, subscription, file upload or hosted redirect service.
Choose the right content type
Website
Share a website, menu or product page. Enter a complete https:// or http:// address. The destination still needs to be reachable.
Text
Share a short note or instructions. Longer text makes the QR code denser; keep it brief and test the printed size.
Wi-Fi
Enter the network name, password and security type. Guests can scan with a compatible camera or scanner. Anyone with the code may read the credentials.
Pre-fill a recipient, subject and message. A compatible email app opens; scanning does not send the message automatically.
Phone
Encode a phone number, preferably with its country code. The scanning device decides how to open the dialler; calls are not placed automatically.
SMS
Pre-fill a recipient and message. SMS app support varies by device; scanning does not send a message automatically.
Contact
Create a vCard with name, phone, email, organization and website. Contact import depends on the scanner and contacts app.
Calendar event
Enter an event name, start/end time and optional location. The code contains calendar data with local date/time values, without an explicit time zone. Check the imported time on the target device.
Frequently asked questions
Is QR Studio free? Do I need an account?
QR Studio lets you generate and download static QR codes without registration or payment. It currently offers 170 templates, 15 font options and 32 interface languages.
How do I create a QR code?
Choose a content type, enter the required fields, adjust the colors or select a template, then download PNG or SVG. Scan the result on the intended device before sharing or printing it.
Do the QR codes expire? Can I edit a downloaded code?
A static QR code stores its content in the image and has no service-controlled expiry. A website link still depends on the destination staying available. To change the encoded data, generate and distribute a new code. QR Studio does not offer dynamic redirects or scan analytics.
Should I download PNG or SVG?
Use PNG for common image workflows, at 512, 1024 or 2048 pixels. SVG is vector artwork that can scale for printing. Preserve the white margin, keep strong contrast, and test the final size with more than one device.
Are my entered content and Wi-Fi password uploaded?
The generator processes entered content and renders QR codes in your browser. Saving a design stores its content in local browser storage, which can be cleared from history. The site also uses Google Analytics, infrastructure telemetry and anonymous template-download counts; local QR generation does not mean the site makes no network requests. Avoid placing sensitive data in URLs or query parameters.
Why does scanning fail?
Check contrast, the white margin and image sharpness. Dense content may need a larger print size. Try a standard square style and another scanner. Wi-Fi, contacts and calendar actions require a compatible device or application.
